Eric Carmen – Eric Carmen

Eric Carmen-Eric Carmen CB095 front

This is the debut album from former Raspberries frontman Eric Carmen. Released in November 1975 it peaked at #21 on the Billboard album chart. The album spawned three top 40 hits. ‘All By Myself’ at #2, ‘Never Gonna Fall In Love Again’ at #11 and ‘Sunrise’ at # 34. It is interesting to note that for ‘Never Gonna Fall In Love Again’ Carmen borrows the melody from Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Symphony No. 2.  Carmen also uses Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 2 for ‘All By Myself’.    Enjoy   CB

A very nice release, Captain. Nice mix with some easy to listen to songs. I’ve never heard the album before but am glad to be able to get acquainted with it now.

Ha saw the rasberries in Birmingham’s Legion Field in the early seventies. It was an all day affair-The raspberries,Buddy Miles,Billy Preston,a Santana knockoff called El Chicano, topped off with Three Dog Night! “Black and White” was on the charts then from “Seven Separate Fools”. After that it was all downhill for TDN. First time I ever saw huge video screens-B&W(apropriately enough),one on each side of the stage. Thank goodness for that because we were in the nosebleed section. Good times.
