    Here’s another interesting one….

    B.W. STEVENSON – My Maria. RCA APT1-0088 (Q8)

    Here’s a really %#&?^* up one that I’d love to hear…

Armand Schaubroeck Steals ‎– A Lot Of People Would Like To See Armand Schaubroeck … DEAD

All albums are discrete CD-4 Quadraphonic. Compatible with Stereo equipment. Mastered at RCA by JVC Victor Company of Japan, Ltd

    Records are auto-coupled.

    • JP it is my understanding that this quad release is a three record set. I have never had my hands on a copy so not totally sure. Will keep it on the radar as this release does show up from time to time on paybay.

    Here’s an odd one…

Greenboard South – The Sounds Of Southern Railway Steam Engines In Motion

Looks interesting. Would definitely want to hear it at least once.

    • Yes odd it is, a collection of steam locomotive sounds. I do have this LP and depending on condition it could be worked up for a release. There is quite an interesting back story here concerning Brad Miller, Mobile Fidelity and The Mystic Moods Orchestra. Anyone else interesting in hearing this record?

  5. jaypfunk says:

Mac Davis- All the Love in the World

If you don’t have it, I have the opportunity to pick up a clean copy of the QUAD LP for $1.00 at a local record store. Let me know if you want me to get it and ship it off to you.

    • That’s a good deal for a quad LP. I thank you for your offer but I already have that title in my collection. However keep an eye out for any other great deals like this that may be absent from the collection. Thanks again.

  11. Ade Gregg says:

Well for me a few Quad releases im looking for
The Carmen Cavallaro- The 3B’s – Beatles Bacharach & Bach, Ive got the LP (Stereo) But it was released as a Q8

Any Ronnie Aldrich, Yeah I know, I kinda like the MOTR stuff that came out on Quad

Any more Enoch Light, I have many many Quad LP’s But have yet to hear many in ‘Real’ Quad, well, like what you do.

    • Again please pardon my delayed reply. The 3B’s… are you referring to these two Capitol albums perhaps? ‘Great Songs of The Beatles’ (QL-6735 (SQ), Q8L-6735 (Q8) or ‘Great Songs of Bacharach & David’ (QL-6734 (SQ), Q8L-6734 (Q8). I have those two on Q8 and could prepare a release if no problems are found on the tapes.

A have two Q8’s by Ronnie Aldrich that could see release again if there are no problems with the tape. ‘Come To Where The Love Is’ (LON L 77190) and a sealed copy of ‘Top Of The World’ (LON L 77203). Do you have a preference?

Lastly Enoch Light. I have many titles as there was a lot of releases from Enoch. I tend to pass them over for other titles .Did not know there would be any interest for releasing but I could. Is there a particular title you would like to hear?

Thank you for your interest and request suggestions.

    • Please excuse my tardy reply, Have been pretty much running on one cylinder for some time. Feeling better now. Very interesting request list. I do have one title. ‘Creative Source – Migration’ on Q8. Could work that one up for release.

  13. jaypfunk says:

Since the killer Share The Land releases I have been thinking… How about a nice Guess Who flood? They had a lot of Q8 releases, Pretty much every RCA album other than “So Long, Bannatyne”. I always wonder why that one was skipped.

    American Woman. RCA PQ8-1518
    Artificial Paradise. RCA PQ8-2114
Canned Wheat Packed by the Guess Who. RCA PQ8-1472
    Flavours. APT1-0636

Power of the Music. RCA APT1-0995
    Road Food. RCA APT1-0405
    Rockin’. RCA PQ8-0995
    Wheatfield Soul. RCA PQ8-1442

    • jaypfunk says:

I meant to say a lot of Q8s up to 1975.

    • Yes The Guess Who was one group who luckily for us had a large portion of their catalog released on the quadraphonic format. Of course what can be released to the blog is dependent on availability and condition. If it’s not in the Captain’s treasure chest then he cannot post it to the blog.

The following four Q8’s are available and will be upcoming releases depending on condition. American Woman, Rockin’ and Wheatfield Soul. Also one that was not on your list The Best of The Guess Who Vol. II will hopefully find it’s place on the blog too.

Now about releasing a flood of one artist to the blog. It is tempting however people’s taste vary and not everyone finds favor with all artist. Therefore I like to spread it out so to remain fresh and hopefully please most folks most of the time.

Thank you for making your request know. Without input the Captain has no idea what will be a good choice to post on the blog. So keep those cards and letters coming. 🙂

While we are on the Winter subject, how about these?

Johnny Winter – John Dawson Winter III
    Edgar Winter – Jasmine Nightdreams
Edgar Winter w/ Rick Derringer – Edgar Winter Group

    And also…
    Humble Pie – Smokin’
Billy Preston – Music Is My Life
Ozark Mountain Daredevils – It’ll Shine When it Shine

  15. Captain,
Would like to request Edgar Winter’s SHOCK TREATMENT. I think I have the Quad Vinyl and Quad 8 Track laying around somewhere if you need them. This album along with BTO II you just worked on are 2 of my Fave’s from 1974….a mere lad of 11 years of age at the time. The sentimental value is off the charts for me. Thanks for your consideration and I look forward to future offerings!! (Eric Carmen S/T would be awesome too as posted previously).
    Craig

  16. I have a few requests… If I may… I’d love to hear both Teaser and the Firecat and Tea for the Tillerman from Cat Stevens. Based on the other Cat Stevens Quads, I’m not expecting an exciting mix. But you never know. Also, I’ve been searching for Deodato 2 for some time. I enjoyed Prelude, so I’m hoping for more magic. 🙂

  17. memphis765 says:

    hello captain,

Any chance that you might do some Elvis quads?
In particular: “From Elvis In Memphis”, “That’s The Way It Is”, “Elvis As Recorded At Madison Square Garden”, “Promised Land”
I’d be thrilled to see any of those.
    Thanks!

  18. admsh says:

Here’s one I’ve been looking for… Not sure it actually exists. On the Quadraphonic Discography link on OD’s blog there’s this entry: NINA SIMONE – Best. RCA PQ8-1597 (Q8). Haven’t seen it anywhere else, ever… But if it does exist…

  19. Would like Shirley Bassey live at Carnegie Hall and also her album “never never never” + all Motown japanese CD-4 albums. Barbra Streisand Butterfly and Lazy Afternoon.

    • The twin pack UA-DA1110-P Shirley Bassey – Live at Carnegie Hall has been floated to the ‘Q8’s to Transfer Stack’. Your other request are not available from the Captain at this time. Those japanese CD-4’s can be very pricey and usually way beyond my means.

  20. jaypfunk says:

    Hello Captain…
    I have 2 requests.
1 – Jimmy Castor Bunch ‎– Dimension III
    2 – Joe Cocker – Joe Cocker! (2nd album)

Do happen to have these? Looking forward to any and all releases coming up.
    Thanks!
    JP

    • The Captain is coming up empty with both of your request. Always seem to get outbid on the 2nd Joe Cocker Q8 as it usually gets a bit pricey on paybay. However I will keep an outlook from the crowsnest and with luck may hook both titles in the future. Thank you for your request as release suggestions are most helpful.

    • Update. Whilst tidying up and checking inventory against a spreadsheet I have found some titles that I was unaware I had. The Jimmy Castor Bunch – Dimension III on CD-4 was located and is now on the ‘to be cleaned’ stack.

  21. Len Costello says:

Do you have Poco Seven or cantamos, Eric carmen converted from Quad 8 on the horizon?

    • Talking about a delayed reply. How about nearly two years. Please pardon my tardy reply Len. The Poco Seven & Cantamos titles I have are both on vinyl using the SQ format. The Captain does not transfer matrix quad material. Those type releases can be found on the Dreaming-Spires Quadraphonic Archive-II website. I do not have a copy of Eric Carmen on Q8 however I have worked towards a transfer from vinyl CD-4.
